Shawn Wheeler

Coach Wheeler has been involved in coaching the game of basketball for more than 25 years. He is currently an assistant basketball coach at The Devon Preparatory School, where he has been part of the coaching staff for more than 7 years. The Devon Preparatory School participates in the Philadelphia Catholic League and the basketball program is recognized as one of the best in the entire state of Pennsylvania.

During Coach Wheeler’s extensive coaching career, he has coached athletes (male and female) at the Youth, Middle School, High School, and Collegiate levels. Coach Wheeler holds a USA Basketball coaching certificate and his coaching resume includes years on the basketball coaching staff(s) at Cardinal O’Hara High School (Boys, Varsity Assistant), and Upper Merion Area High School (Girls, Varsity Head Coach).

In addition, Coach Wheeler brings more than a decade of experience as both program director and head coach of an AAU program in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Coach Wheeler is originally from Glenolden, Pennsylvania and he was a standout high school (Interboro High School, Prospect Park, PA) and collegiate basketball player (Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science, Philadelphia, PA).

 

When not in the gym. Coach Wheeler is employed by Lynx DX, (VP of Market Access), husband to Gabriella and father to Marykate, Shawn, Ryan...and his 4-legged son, Barkley (Sir Charles).
