Paul Manning

Coach Paul Manning brings over 30 years of international coaching experience to PA Hoops Academy. Coach Manning is currently serving as Associate Head Coach for the Westtown School Varsity team, one of the top programs in the nation, where he coached players such as Mo Bamba (Orlando Magic), Cam Reddish (Atlanta Hawks), Jalen Warley (Florida State) Jon Bol Ajak (Syracuse), Franck Kepnang (Washington), Jalen Gaffney (UConn/FAU), Noah Collier (Pitt/ GW),  TJ Berger (San Diego/Lafayette), Dereck Lively  (Duke) who was the #1 player in the class of 2022, Quin Berger (St Joes) and Jameel Brown (PSU).

Coach Manning has coached AAU basketball for a number of years and has registered a very strong winning record. His teams have won 30 tournaments and in 2015 had a 3rd place finish at the AAU National Championships. In the 2018 season his 8th grade team won 5 tournaments including the Crossover Hoops National Championship.

Coach Manning was head coach of Father Mathews Basketball Club, in Cork, Ireland, before relocating to the U.S. When he took over as head coach of Father Mathews, the club had 18 members and on the day he left for the U.S. it was the biggest club in Ireland with over 330 playing members. Along with his club commitments, Coach Manning was head coach at two high schools while also having a business that provided professional coaching at elementary and middle schools back in his homeland.

Outside of coaching, Coach Manning is Director of  IT Transformation at Merck. He lives in Berwyn PA, with his wife Natasha and two sons, Lucas and Cian.

​

In his playing days, Coach Manning represented Ireland at international level over 20 times and was a member of the Irish team that won the Four Nations Basketball Tournament in 1992. He captained the Munster Provincial Team (combination of 6 counties/states) for 4 years and led them to a National title on 2 occasions. Outside of his representative honor’s Manning won numerous titles at local and national level with High School, University and Club teams.

Coach Manning is excited to be back coaching younger athletes, developing their skills and providing the foundation for them to be impactful player at the  high school level and beyond.
