Devin Walker
I was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and I take great pride in my roots. A product of the Philadelphia public school system, I graduated from the Academy at Palumbo in South Philadelphia, where I was a dedicated multi-sport athlete. My experience as a student-athlete not only laid the foundation for my passion for sports but also taught me early lessons in leadership, perseverance, and teamwork.

After high school, I briefly pursued football at West Chester University. While my playing aspirations only took me so far, the experience was far from a setback; it provided me with valuable insight into the demands of collegiate athletics and gave me transferable skills in discipline, time management, and mental toughness that have stayed with me throughout my professional journey.

Following my time at West Chester, I dedicated several years to working with special needs youth and adjudicated adolescents. In a variety of roles—teaching, mentoring, and coaching—I had the opportunity to help young people navigate real-world challenges and develop essential life skills. These experiences not only deepened my commitment to service but also helped shape the holistic coaching philosophy I carry with me today.

My coaching career began at Unionville High School, where I served for several seasons as a freshman basketball coach. I then moved on to Church Farm School as a varsity assistant, followed by a head varsity coaching position for the girls’ basketball program at The Baldwin School. I later returned to Unionville in an expanded role before stepping into a projected assistant coaching position at Rosemont College. Each stop has offered new opportunities to learn, lead, and grow as a coach, educator, and mentor.

My coaching philosophy centers around developing the complete student-athlete. I believe success on the court begins with a strong foundation off the court—emphasizing communication, personal responsibility, and active community involvement. I also focus on instilling the basketball-specific habits and skills that are consistent among high-level collegiate players at all levels, from Division III to Division I. I've been fortunate to work alongside and coach athletes who embody these traits, and I strive to pass that same standard and mindset on to every player I work with.

Basketball has been a lifelong passion, but more importantly, it has been a vehicle through which I’ve been able to impact lives. As I continue my coaching journey, I remain committed to guiding young athletes not just toward wins, but toward becoming better people, both on and off the court.
